Established in 1965, the Northwest Nonferrous Metal Research Institute is equipped with 14 research institutes, one national key laboratory, and 19 national-level innovation platforms. The institute primarily focuses on the fundamental research, material science, process technology, applied research, analysis, testing, and production of rare metal materials. It has developed dozens of internationally advanced production lines for new rare metal materials, forming a complete industrial chain. The institute is committed to creating the largest modernized rare metal material industry cluster in China, providing strong support for key sectors such as aerospace, nuclear industry, new energy, and health.
