As a supporter of the "European Enterprises China Tour" initiative, the Carl Duisberg Center was established in 1962 in Cologne, Germany, initially under the jurisdiction of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (Business Department). It is a legally recognized non-profit organization in Germany, with its operations encompassing international business, industrial exchange and matchmaking, education and training, and other areas. Its activities span various fields including politics, economy, technology, culture, and education. To date, it has served 21 countries and regions worldwide. The center was among the first batch of cross-border exchange institutions officially certified by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China in 1999, with the channel number: 994901.
To steadfastly advance high-level opening-up and attract and utilize foreign investment with greater intensity, the initiative aims to serve the "going global" strategy of Chinese enterprises and the "bringing in" of foreign industries. Characterized by "dual registration, dual parks in China and Germany, and cross-border operations," it seeks to cultivate international industrial clusters, laying the groundwork for the establishment of a Sino-German Hidden Champions Industrial Park.
